Landscape Installation and Planting Bed Renovation Project in Glencoe

Landscape installation in Glencoe, IL featuring foundation plantings, Japanese Maple, ornamental grasses, perennial flowers, decorative steppers, and fresh mulch.

This landscape project in Glencoe, IL focused on enhancing multiple outdoor areas with new planting beds, ornamental trees, perennial flowers, decorative steppers, and foundation landscaping. From the front entrance to the backyard, each space was designed to improve curb appeal, add seasonal color, and create a more cohesive landscape throughout the property.

Project Goals

  • Enhance the home’s curb appeal with new foundation plantings.
  • Create new planting beds around the garage.
  • Improve the backyard with ornamental trees and decorative pathways.
  • Add color, texture, and seasonal interest throughout the landscape.
  • Create low-maintenance planting areas designed for long-term beauty.

Front Entrance Landscape Renovation

The existing landscape walls on both sides of the front entrance were removed to create a fresh planting design.

New Burning Bushes, Green Velvet Boxwoods, and Allium were installed to provide year-round structure, seasonal color, and a welcoming entrance to the home.

The planting beds were finished with fresh mulch to help retain moisture and create a clean, finished appearance.

Garage Planting Bed Installation

New planting beds were created west and south of the garage by removing existing lawn areas and preparing the soil for installation.

Purple Clematis were installed to complement homeowner-provided trellises, while Karl Foerster Grasses, Allium, Black-Eyed Susans, and Stella de Oro Daylilies were combined to create layers of color, texture, and movement throughout the growing season.

The beds were completed with fresh mulch to enhance appearance and support healthy plant growth.

Backyard Landscape Improvements

The backyard landscape was enhanced with the installation of a Japanese Maple as a focal point, along with Bronx Forsythias to add seasonal color and privacy.

A series of decorative steppers was installed to create a functional pathway between the hot tub and deck, improving accessibility while complementing the surrounding landscape.

Additional mulch was installed throughout the planting beds to provide a polished finish.

Why Complete Landscape Design Matters

A well-planned landscape connects every area of the property into one cohesive outdoor space.

Combining ornamental trees, flowering shrubs, perennial flowers, ornamental grasses, and functional walkways creates visual interest while improving usability and reducing long-term maintenance.
