Park Ridge Drainage System Replacement Project – Foundation Flooding Repair and PVC Regrading Solution

Tommy Pollina Landscape Co. Inc.’s first drainage project of the season took place at a residential property in Park Ridge, Illinois, where a previously installed PVC drainage system had failed to solve ongoing flooding issues. The existing system terminated in a simple T-fitting just below the surface with no proper discharge point, leaving water with nowhere to go. Even snowmelt,  not a major storm,  caused severe water accumulation near the home’s foundation. After a full evaluation, we determined the issue was not just the pipe itself, but improper grading and the lack of a properly engineered discharge solution.

Scope of work included:
• Complete removal of the improperly installed PVC drainage system
• Installation of a significantly extended PVC run to carry water safely away from the home
• Laser-guided regrading of the entire drainage flow line to ensure precise pitch and performance
• Installation of an underground NDS Flow Well to properly disperse collected water
• Integration of grading and discharge components so the system functions as one cohesive drainage solution

Every slope and connection was carefully engineered to move water efficiently away from the foundation, not allow it to back up toward the structure. The result is a fully re-engineered drainage system that protects the home from heavy rain and snowmelt, delivering a long-term solution the homeowner can rely on year after year.
