About Tommy Pollina Landscape Company, Inc.

teamFounded in 1982 by Joseph “Joe” Pollina, Tommy Pollina Landscape started as a one-truck neighborhood operation on Chicago’s Northwest Side. As a kid, Joe learned landscaping at his father’s side. In 1982 he put his name on a truck and started what became Tommy Pollina Landscape Co., growing a loyal route of homes and businesses through the ’80s and ’90s. As demand rose, he continued to add services and sharpen expertise in areas such as drainage, hardscapes, lighting, interior tropical plant care, holiday décor, and more. Over the decades, the operation continued to grow across the North Shore, solving tens of thousands landscaping problems and goals. You can see our high standards in long-time partnerships like Gibsons restaurants and across hundreds of residential and commercial sites. Today, the business is still guided day-to-day by our founder, Joe Pollina, who serves as Director of Operations.

Joe

Joe Pollina

Founder & Director of Operations

Joe learned landscaping the old-school way: at his father’s side on Chicago’s Northwest Side, where he picked up the fundamentals of planting, stonework, and doing the job right the first time. In 1982 he put his name on a truck and built Tommy Pollina Landscape into a trusted design-build and maintenance firm. Joe’s hands-on expertise runs deep—plant selection and care, curb-appeal lighting, and especially precision drainage solutions that protect foundations and hardscapes. He’s a familiar voice to Chicago homeowners as a regular guest with Lou Manfredini on WGN Radio and other local platforms, where he shares practical advice rooted in decades in the field. Today, Joe leads day-to-day operations as Director of Operations, mentoring crews, setting standards on-site, and making sure every project meets the level he learned from his dad.
